We are excited to share some news about Breakout.

Breakout is becoming a crypto-only prop firm.

This means that from February 1st, we will no longer offer any FX trading.

We have made this decision for three main reasons.

First, our crypto product is far more popular, with 91.10% of all traders choosing crypto. The overwhelming majority of our traders are here for crypto. The Breakout team is fully crypto native. Shifting our focus entirely to crypto will allow us to be even faster with listings, platform updates, and customer support. It also allows us to improve the user experience via a unified platform, a unified ruleset, and more.

Second, our crypto product is unique. We have brought transparent perpetual futures liquidity to crypto prop trading, directly from a tier 1 centralized exchange. No suboptimal tradfi brokers, no opaque CFDs, and no unrealistic trading conditions. We believe our crypto trading environment is the first to verifiably use centralized exchange liquidity. This has set the industry standard for execution and transparency.

Third, candidly, we believe that FX evaluation-based prop trading is on an unsustainable course. Account sizes are too big, pricing is too cheap, and rules are too loose. It is our view that many firms are offering these conditions out of necessity and at the expense of sound risk management. Rather than joining the race to the bottom, we are humbly bowing out and redirecting our time and effort to crypto, where we have a distinct edge.

So, what now?

Traders with an existing FX evaluation will have their account closed and will be offered a crypto evaluation of the same account size, free of charge. Traders with an FX Breakout Account will have their account closed, any gains paid out, and also be offered a crypto evaluation of the same account size (up to $100,000) free of charge.

As for crypto traders, expect more news in the near future as we transition to being a specialist crypto only prop firm with the best and most unique product in the market.
